The Intermatic face plate seems bigger than the cover plate. Does the knob come off in order to only remove the face place? I want to paint the wall behind it.
That knob should just pull straight off. Check to make sure there isn't a tiny set screw on the side, but otherwise you can pull it off and remove the cover plate.

I thought my old timer was bad, the clock won't run, I have to manually turn the pump on & off, so I replaced the clock, and it does the same, I set the current time and come back in 1 hour, it stay at the same time, what did I do wrong? Please help. Thank you.
Check your wiring, it sounds like it's not right. The clock needs 120 volts to run.

How do I determine what model number my Intermatic timer is?
The timer enclosure is plastic and reads part number 2T2921A. The label under the enclosure part number faded and is illegible. IIt ods have a yellow dial. I checked both units at the HW store and they are identical to me. The wiring diagrams on the Intermatic side are also identical. I need to determiine somehow if mine is 220 or 120V. Thanks.

NEED INSTRUCTION OR MANUAL
I don't have an instruction manual but there's not much to know. Set the on/off times by depressing the white and grey tabs just above the hour notation for the times you want. If the tabs are up then the power is off. If they are pressed in then power's on. Plug it in, turn the dial to the current time and attach a device using less than 500 watts and you're good to go. My Intermatic pool timer is not working. It is not keeping time. The timer wheel does not advance at all, so, the pool pump runs 24 hours. I can switch the pool timer on and off manually. I replaced the entire mechanism and the new timer does the same thing. It doesn't run either!
Check timer wiring.
And
Check that timer is getting voltage.

I need the instruction manual for Model # R8806R101C.
Intermatic manuals
http://www.intermatic.com/customer%20service/instruction%20manuals.aspx
R8806R101C manual is not shown on Intermatic, even among discontinued models.
But product is still for sale.
R8806P manual is available:
I suspect manual is very similar since it's a mechanical time piece. If not, then add a comment with specifics and I will help.
120V:

my tork 1101 timer will not trip on. It trips off ok. Manual override works fine, trip pins fine. When I manually rotate the dial it trips off fine, i hear and feel it click when the on pin pass, but the timer does not turn on. What to do?
as per geno,
Tork T1101 has 120 Volt clock motor and is generally used for 120Volt loads but can be wired other ways to handle 240Volt circuits.
Here are basic wiring instructions for 120Volt.
1) Black Hot wire from breaker connects to both terminal 1 and terminal L.
There is usually a brass connector plate between these two terminals. If that plate is present, then connect Hot wire to one terminal or the other.
2) White Neutral wire from breaker box connects to terminal X.
3) Black wire going to Load (light, fan, motor) connects to terminal 2
4) White neutral wire going to Load connects to terminal X along with other neutral wire.
That's the wiring.
To operate timer:
1) Set current time: rotate dial clockwise until current time lines up with the word TIME that is located to lower right of dial at about 5 o'clock position.
2) Put on-off trippers on outer edge of dial at times you want timer to turn on and off.
The trippers are marked ON and OFF.
3) The ON tripper rotates around on the dial until it encounters a lever, and then it pushes the lever.
The lever clicks one direction for ON tripper, and then OFF tripper pushes lever other direction.
The lever opens and closes electrical contacts which turns the Load on-and-off.

My Intermatic T104P3 timer will not turn the pump on. The manual switch works and it does turn off, as set.
1) Manual switch is working, and that says electricity, circuit breaker, wiring, and pump are good.
If timer dial is rotating and keeping good time, then order new 156T1978A trippers.
If dial is not rotating, then order 240Volt WG1573 clock motor.
