Take down the front cover, pull the toner cartridge out and pull the paper to remove it. Check the plastic wheel that feeds the paper (use a flashlight). It has a rubber band that might be broken. Replace it if necessary.

I found the problem with my non-networked Samsung ML-1610 laser printer.

I had it plugged into a 4 way (unpowered) v2.0 hub.

When I plugged it directly into a USB port on the computer the printing error disappeared.

you should use the proper printer driver and always verify if the machine is detected by the PC every time you connect it.

It probably has a jam somewhere. Open each flap, remove the toner cartridge and check the paper path is clear.

Remove the covers and the fuser unit is located in rear area.Remove the connectors and the screws and dissassambly the fuser unit in two parts.

Need to make sure every last little shred of paper is removed check the rollers carefully

see, you have inserted the paper well. if not solved, your catridge have low ink or empty. so bring a new catridge or if you can, refill the catridge. 1610 catridge can be easily refilled.
