rear end, if it 4x4 can be tranfer case ect.. I would take it to any mechanic shop and have them listen to it, any good mechanic will be able to tell you right off the bat and it wont cost you a penny

fine but won't engage into reg. four wheel Either the electric motor is stuck/ needs replaced on the transfer case or if you have been hearing grinding (whining noises) the tranfer case needs replaced
