2003 Mercury Grand Marquis "ac leak" Questions

AC works well but it switches between floor, vent and defrost. It does it on auto and if I select the vent. It has a vacuum leak,Either under hood going to vacuum ball. Vacuum ball is a vacuum storage

ac blows fine when idling but when under power ac goes off and heater comes on vacuum leak. mine was under the plenum. there are two major vac. hoses under it.
