Cyberhome DVD Recorder - DVR1600 "disc finalized philips" Questions

finalized and I cannot play them. When I place a new unformated disc it still says - No disc Tried cleaning the lens with Philips lens cleaner for DVD but that didn't solve the problem. Someone please
