I have a 1981 ford granda will start but i have to keep my foot on the gas or it will die what should i do?

If the car sat for 3or more months the gas may have left residue in the carb plugging the idle jets.It will probly run as long as the rpm is kept high enough to stay off the idle circut. the carb must be disassembled and cleaned.I'd also change the fuel filter.

HAVE TO KEEP FOOT ON GAS TO KEEP IT FROM DYING

Could be many things from siple like a vacuum line pulled off to something expensive like the carb needing a rebuild. I would stay away he would have fixed it if it was something simple
