Gas was leaking from the grommet on the top of the front tank. Replaced and now I think that it has pulled the gas from the rear tank to the front tank and is overflowing at the nozzle where you put gas in.
You probably have a defective fuel-tank selector valve. Its located on the left frame rail, halfway down. While the vehicle is running, tank"A" is pumping fuel to the engine, while tank "B" is getting the unneeded fuel that is returning from the engine. Thats why it is overflowing.

There are normally two hose lines from the fuel filler that run to the tank. The larger one carries the fuel from the nozzle to the tank. The smaller one is a vent hose that allows vapors to leave the top of the tank while filling. These vapors come back to the nozzle area and can be vented and/or collected by the nozzle depending upon air pollution standards in your area. If your second hose is running to the bottom of the quarter panel, it is probably the vent hose that may not have been reconnected at the top of the tank when the fuel pump was replaced. The fuel running down there is from kickback fuel at the time the pump shuts off. The real problem is that the vent line is open on top of the tank and when the tank is full, that can allow vapors and fuel to escape out of there and it could contact hot exhaust areas - a major fire or explosion hazard. Have this inspected and repaired IMMEDIATELY.
It may just be the fuel pump seal at the top of the tank. it has to be dropped for a definite diagnosis. It is rare but the tank seams occasionally crack too. Good luck.
it may be the plastic/rubber fill tube, this attached from the top of the tank to the fill with a hose clamp at each end. If you climb under the side where you fill up from and look up you will see it, as it resembles a radiator hose. Good Luck Tim
the top of the tank has an opening where the gas guage sending unit is installed. The gasket can give out and it can leak when the tank is completely full, but won't necessarily show signs of leakage when the tank is partially full. Requires dropping the tank and changing the gasket... hope this helps.
yes the pressure sensor in mounted in a rubber grommet on the top of the fuel tank. it could be the sensor but the only way to know for sure is have the dealer do a evaporative emissions fuel tank pressure test, they have the special tools to do this, outside shops do not. Have u tried a new gas cap, they can leak and cause the problem, in fact that is very common.
