Measure the battery voltage individually. If each battery has less than 10 volts, charge them with an automotive style NON automatic battery charger.

SOURCE: New batteries, fully charged, still wont work

I have the book if you can figure a way to post you email without getting too much SPAM. Be sure the charger is un-plugged, and that the free wheel lever is engaged.

SOURCE: pride victory Scooter battery charged won't run

Its probably too late to give my opinion, but here goes anyway.
I had a similar problem with my mothers scooter and it turned out to be a faulty connection on the wires leading to the motor. I simply pulled the plastic connection apart, cleaned and lubricated the contacts, refitted the connection and all was well.

SOURCE: My Pride scooter is fully charged but there isn't

Does the battery meter move and does the green LED on the console come on? If not, then this would probably be the circuit breaker has popped or possibly a fuse blown somewhere. There may be a fuse on each of the battery harness leads, so they could be worth a check. May also be a bad connection somewhere or a broken wire. Also worth checking the key switch incase this is not working. If the green LED on the console IS on, is it flashing and if so, how many times. This is a built in diagnostic system and will tell you what is wrong with the scooter if you have the owners manual to refer to. Hope this helps...

SOURCE: My sonic disability scooter's battery is fully

Most of the scooters expeinece a bad control board, this control board is where you steer and power on your chair. This is a costly repair and would need certification because its a mobility device. I recommend you have it repaired locally instead of taking advice on the web as the issue could be something simple, because I worked on my dad's device I thought I would give you a hint of what it could be.

I would appreciate if you leave positive feedback before you leave please.

I have a Golden LiteRider scooter. When I first put the battery in, the scooter powers up and drives. If I let the scooter sit unused for a brief time, the scooter will no longer run.

That sounds like two things could be wrong.

Either the batteries are failing. They should last about 4.5 to 5 years.

Or you have what is called parasitic draw. Something is using power when it sits unused. This can be a controller which isn't cutting completely off.

Lead acid batteries should always be kept fully charged, so the use of a trickle charger is recommended to keep them fully topped up. If the batteries are discharging outside the scooter, then the batteries do need replacing.

MY QUESTION IS ABOUT BATTERY POWERED ELECTRIC SCOOTERS. WHY IS IT THAT i AM NOT GETTING NOWHERE NEAR THE RANGE that I am getting from a fully charge scooter.

Sounds like either the battery or charger is not working properly. If the machine has been sitting around for a long time without charging the battery then the battery may not hold a full charge, I would pull the batteries and have them checked out and see if they are charging up to snuff. Fully charge them before you get them tested. There should be no charge to check them.

My scooter will not fully charge

This could be the charger socket is worn and not making a good connection when charging or it could be the charger itself at fault. Now you have changed the batteries, I presume new and both the same type, you need to look at the charging side.

Old Pride Rally won't charge or run

The batteries may be too old to take a charge. They are gell cell types and can be had at any battery shop. You can get them on line too, but shipping will be high.

Has the scooter been stored unused for a while? If so, the batteries may have gone solid from improper maintenance. There is a gel inside the batteries that needs to have current run through it at least once a week to keep them fluid. The charger is showing a green light because it senses the batteries are full, but instead of being full of power, they are full of crud and need to be replaced again. If the batteries have been properly charged but you still cannot get power, check all your connections to make sure they are tight and that your fuses are not blown.
Good luck!

How to charge my panterra transport scooter,do i leave switch on or off and for how long?

tony you can charge it either way with switch on or off and if you have used the scooter alot during the day and the battery level lights are in the red charge overnight. The charger light will turn from yellow to green when the batteries are fully charged It really is a good idea to get into the habit of charging overnight wehn you have used the scooter all day. It helps the batteries to recycle them thru a charge cycle when they run down. Now if the scooter is used rarely then make sure it is fully charged when it stored and charge once a week when idle. Hope this helps you

Battery is charged, however there seems to be more power

Yes a charge fresh, fully charged battery will allow for the scooter to perform at it's peak top speed. Also fresh, fully charged battery will read more than 24v on a voltage meter and this is ok.

Shop rider sovereign voltage indication. Brand new fully charged

hi Richard,

Does the scooter actually lose power after the 3 leds show ?

If it is losing power then a suggest to try some other batteries to confirm dodgy batteries, check the terminal connections etc.

If it does not lose power then the volt meter is at fault, if you can check the voltage before riding then after it shows only 3 leds , if there is a big drop, check the charger first to make sure the batteries are getting fully charged.

I think your batteries haven`t been charged properly,or they have been left standing so the charge has leaked out.At a minimum your batteries need to be charged for 12 hrs a day for the first month if not they will not build the capacity and will dwindle and die for example it is at only 25% capacity, but looks like a fullcharge, it says it fully charged but will die
quickly this happens because it is charged to its full capacity but that is only 25% of the batteries true potential
resulting in short battery life.
Unfortunately majority of scooter batteries like this have to be newly replaced.
