Might be the purge solenoid stuck open flooding the engine with fuel vapour. (removing the pcv ads fresh air and counteracts the rich mixture) If you can find the purge hose, block it and see if it runs ok. If so, you will need to check out and fix the purge system

Crafsman 25cc weedwacker won't stay running

You probably have a bad hose or a bad hose connection that is sucking mostly air instead of delivering full fuel to the carburetor!

It starts and runs good when cold but after it warms up it dies and sometimes wont run right until cold again

Try putting your car in neutral, and then start it. Once it starts, put it in park, once you hear the engine start to choke out, rev the gas pedal, and see if it stays on. I used to have this problem with my '95 Ford Contour, I forget what the problem was. But, until you solve it, this may be your only solution lol. Maybe EGR Valve could be bad?

Son-in-law did a tune up. Plugs, plug wires, rotor, distrbuter cap, pvc valve and all the filters. He change the oil also. The fuel pump was the original problem. He changed the pump and fuel filter. The...

Check for an air leak in the fuel system. It sounds like the son-in -law did good work but missed an air leak somewhere. The system is not providing enough fuel to the engine. The other possibility is that you are pulling a vacuum on the fuel tank. They have to be vented either through the cap or through the canister. First take the fuel cap off and see if the truck will run. If it does put the fuel cap back on and pull the hose off the canister and try to run the truck. If it runs it was the canister.

Vacuum hose busted

Sounds like the computer system readjusted it self to the specific air measurements that the busted hose was allowing in to the engine.(This is only relevant if you have a 1987-up) turn off the car, remove the battery cables, and let sit for 45 min, this is ample time to reset the computer memory. Reattatch cables and start. It may run rough for a few miles but if after say 50 miles of driving, if it still wont idle, than you may need to replace sensors. (MAF, intake sensors, O2 sensors, etc..)
