When i tow my trailer keeps swaying back and forth. what is the reason for this?
It is either you have loaded too many items on one side of the trailer. Another reason could be that you are not using the correct towing accessories i.e hitch. A load leveling hitch is the best to use.
If there is too much weight on the rear of the trailer it will sway,
try loading with the weight on the hitch end.

Besides the shocks, check the stabilizer links (sometimes called sway bar links). I don't know if your vehicle has them on the rear, but it does have two on the front, one on the left, the other on the right. They tend to rust out and break after 7 years or so. If you can determine what they are, they are rather inexspensive to fix and can even be done at home with a few basic tools with the parts obtainable at aftermarket parts outlets like NAPA and CarQuest.

common problem on ford explorers can be the swaybar bushings / swaybar links or even improper tire size / you can even have a bearing going bad goodluck

It sounds like you may have bad shock absorbers. It could also be the anti-sway bars are worn out, or broken. These are 2 components that could cause the problem you're having. Take it to a repair center, & have it put on a lift to see the full view of the undercarriage. That will let you see all the components at the same time.

this could be caused by a bend or broken track arm or tie rod. if you look under the front of the car the damage should be very apparent. also check the ends that connect to the wheels themselves -- the threaded ball joint area can be bent or broken. and check the stabilizer shock ( which will be attached to the track arm and to the under carrage of the vehicle ) and see if it is bent and might even be leaking do to damage ( and not holding a charge ).
again,, the damage sould be very clear when you inspect under the car.
