I own a 97lexus es300.car runs very smooth and well tookin care of.just recently did my power stearing start acting funny.my return is slwoet when I turn the wheel.I added dextro3 granny fluid and didn't help.its getting a bit harder and harder to turn my stearing wheel.especially when its cold.what should I do?

Have your power steering belt checked and adjusted, or replaced if worn.

Your powered steering pump needs checking out as it sounds like a reco pump is needed and the rest of the steering needs a good check over ,but yes do check your fluid as if its low or empty then it can cost you more
It should be checked like the rest of the car every 3000 km same as Battery/Engine oil/Brake fluid/Tyres/ etc ...

Dear Screech And Whine......What you have described is definitely a power steering concern. And yes the fluid is low.....thanks for the accurate problem description!! You are correct on the filling the fluid part also......but keep in mind that if your power steering fluid is lo that you might very well also have a ps leak too.You can do a visual check and trace all of your ps lines to make sure that no fluid is escaping anywhere.....You ae more tha welcome to get back to me if you have any further questions...HOPE I COULD HELP!!!
