My mom had her 2006 Kia Rio serviced a week ago. She started to smell something burning yesterday and then saw smoke coming from under the hood. Her engine has oil spattered all over the place and the dipstick is over an inch above the top dot. I checked her receipt and it reads that they put 5.0 quarts in!!!!! Her car should only take 3.5 quarts. What should she demand of the dealer? Is this going to ruin her engine?

Sorry dont make the mistake. always refer to your user/ service manual.
3.5 quarts is the corrct measurement for your kia Rio.

Hi,
Check the Owner's Manual for the total amount it holds.
To ADD, put in 1/2 quart, let it settle for 5 mins, and check it. This way you don't put in TOO MUCH oil- that's bad too.
