Key codes I bought a 91 fox and lost the one key i got for it. Where on the car can I find the key code to get a new one made? I was told the door handle but that was a no go.
You should have a 4 digit or 7 digit s.k.c code if you have lost that code you will have to take the car to a dealer they will plug your car in and it will connedct to vw computer (geko) that will give them the code for your keys and away you go i could code a new key fot you but would need the code to do that--good luck vw dont know there is a credit crunch so take your wallet!!!

You need to get an aftermarket coded key which can be cut by the serial number of the vehicle. You need to be a locksmith to get the cut codes or know a locksmith. Then you have to get the car to the dealer and have the key programmed using the Tech 2 scanner.
You can take the car to the dealer and have them give you a key, programmed and everything but it will cost around $300 for the 1st key.
I bought a 2001 Catera for $1,500.00 because it had no keys.
I used serial number to get key codes and cut the key; doors opened and seller retrieved her personal stuff. I towed car to dealership and had the key programmed; $130 for 10 minutes work (min 1 hour shop charge). I then programmed 3 more keys (using a key code reader) instead of letting the dealership rape me.
BTW, they (dealer) also want $350 for a programmed door remote; the stock remote! Instead, I bought a remote starter unit (Bulldog) with 2 remote fobs for $100 and now my wife can start and find her car easily.
HI any nissan dealer should be able to get key codes for you just give them the vin number they normally charge for this but not to much ,they wil usually ask for some id and proof it's your car steve
