If I have it in automatic and get on the throttle hard, then it shifts at like 6000-6200rpms when it redlines at 6500rpm. Is this normal? My biggest question is, If I'm traveling at highway speed, 110km/hr, and get on the throttle hard, It drops at least 1 gear to get torque and the rpms shoot through the roof, HOWEVER I'm not getting the acceleration from the car that I should be. It's almost like when it drops a gear, it drops into neutral. When I let off of the throttle before it redlines, then it goes back into a higher gear and seems to re-engage the front wheels. So picture it, your doing a 100, jump on the accelerator, the transmission shifts down but you DO NOT start accelerating. Your RPS just climb to redline but as soon as you back off the throttle it shifts up a gear a you pull ahead and start acclerating again. Any ideas?

SOURCE: check engine light keeps coming on & off on
If the light was flashing when it came on, then it means your engine is misfiring.
A solid light can mean anything from a loose/faulty gas cap to a transmission issue.
This
light comes on when the computer detects a
fault of some sort in its diagnostic tests. If it keeps detecting this
issue, the light will remain on. If the light turns off, then it has
detected that the issue may no longer be present.
In
order to find out what the exact reason was for your light, You need to
have your car computer scanned to retrieve the code that
the computer would have stored when the light triggered. Most garages
will do this free of charge. The code will tell you what may have
caused the light to initially turn on.
