Fan relay is stuck in closed position inside you can replace them cheaply with after market parts from a local auto parts dealer. the relays are located on the fire wall on passenger side in engine area, or on the driverside inner fender

Which relay is for the fans on 2001 ford Taurus

There are 2 relays for the cooling fans. They are located in the power distribution box located in the engine compartment (see picture below of location). there is a low speed fan relay located in the number 24 position and a high speed fan relay located in the number 32 position (see layout picture below). If your fans are not working at all you may also want to look at the "maxi" fuse in the number 9 position as that gives power to those relays. i hope this helps and good luck.

Cooling fan runs continuously, even after ignition is turned off

some do that but if it runs after the car is cold then you have a bad relay

Does the fan always run

Cooling fans only run when the temp,of the coolant get to about 215 to 218 degrees, and shut them selves off, when the engine cools down,if they do not cut off,the engine is not cooling down, now,if the ac is on,the cooling fans will stay on until the ac is shut off.

96 ford taurus the cooling fans wont shut off ever whats with this

You may ahve a bad engine coolant temp sensor. If it goes, the cooling fans default to always on high speed.

Cooling fan didnt shut off when ignition was turned off

It is the cooling fan relay,it will be in the fuse/relay box under the hood,on drivers side,or near the fans,if you remove the correct relay, the cooling fans will turn off.Just replace it with a new one from the parts store.

Overheating engine in 24 valve 96 ford taurus 6 cyl

the thermostat can be easily changed from up top, the T-stat is located at the engine end of the upper radiator hose under the flange the hose connects to. Make sure u follow manufacturer's cooling system bleeding procedures when you refill after the T-stat is changed out.

I have a 1997 Ford Taurus and if i turn the key in the run position nothing works...My windows won't let down...my sunroof will not open...My fuel pump is not coming on...my cooling fan is not working, and...

When this happens, leave the key in the ignition and change from park to neutral and back again. I have to do this on my Taurus SHO from time to time. It won't start because it doesn't think it is in Park. Something to do with the shift selector switch on the transmission.
