Hi There I Have an Hyandi Getz with an steering problem everytime i put it onto full lock i hear an screech like rubber against somthing any ideas what i ca do ?? Many thanks Anthony

Assuming the steering wheel is not turned all the way to full and there is an excessive load on the lock cylinder, it sounds like the cylinder has failed.
You may have to get a locksmith or mechanic to take the column apart and drill out the cylinder.

with the key in turn it to start then move the steering wheel up and down

Loose power steering belt

HI,
is the vehicle on a full steerring lock left or right?
Apply the parking brake, Trans in P / N.
Insert the ign key.
Place one hand on the rim of the steering wheel and "rock" the wheel as you attempt to turn the ign key. You will feel the pressure against the steering wheel, keep "rocking" it and it should unlock as you work the ign lock.

Lift the front of the car and remove the front wheels. Check all rubber bushings and linkages. Compare each side with each other. Check the steering control arms and the ball joints for any play. Check the rack is securely mounted. Swing the steering from full lock to left, inspect everything and then full lock to the right with full inspection. Check your power steering for any leaks etc.

Put on a full lock if ot screeches then the fan belt is loose just tighten it or replace if needed O.K. ?

What you are hearing is the power steering belt slipping Screeching noise? Retighten all the front belts They will have "settled in" a bit after being refitted after cam job

you may have" lifetime" pads that are extra hard or rubber insulators are worn out start there and get back to us screeching is usualy a result of using the wrong lube instead of what came with the break pads

it sounds like the power steering belt is loose. If it has a tensioner pulley the spring in it might be loosing it's tensile strength. While you are looking at the belt pay attention to the side that is against the pulley to see if it has alot of cracks. If it has I think 10 cracks per inch that is too much and needs to be replaced.

have you checked the level of the power steering fluid? On some cars when the level is to low , a screech will appear.
