I am half-way thru the automatic seat belt to regular seat belt conversion (I have a 1994 saturn sc2, and I took the regular seat belt system from a 1995 saturn sc2). I have removed the automatic seat belt track and motor. I installed the regular seat belt guide, the lower seat belt reel and the upper and lower trim. My problem is that I don't know where exactly to put the upper rail, I'm thinking it should still go to the area where the motor was, but there isn't a distinct hole to attach it to...I don't know this part doesn't seem inuitive. Could you help? Thanks!

SOURCE: automatic seat belt removal and replace with regular seat belts

You'd need to pickup the need parts at the junkyard. You'll need the "A" to "B" pillar trim, lower "B" pillar trim, front seat belts and seatbelt giude from a 1995 SC1 or SC2.

The treaded hole in the frame of the car where the track of the automatic seatbelt assembly attaches is in a slightly different place than the three point system. Its not a problem though. You just need to drill a 3/4" hole slightly above the existing hole in the trim panel. The existing hole is hidden by the seatbelt and not noticable at all.

Everything else pretty much bolts or snaps into place.

I've done this swap on several 1991-1994 Saturn S-Series.

SOURCE: Removal of rear window

The bad news is when the cable comes loose it normally means some plastic retaining part has broken, so you will need a new or at least a replacement regulator (which is the cable mechanism that rolls the window up and down). This will bolt both to the door and to the window. I would leave the window in the door and just tape it up once you have it unbolted from the regulator.

SOURCE: 2001 saturn sc2 gets code 341&340 camshaft sensor

if you have high resistance in secondary ign. system (plug wires, ign.coil) this will cause this code to set. make sure you are using a high quality spark plug wire set. not from autozone!!! and denso non platinum tipped spark plugs. also use a diaelectric grease on plug wires to keep moisture out.

SOURCE: install seat belt through seat belt guide 1990 camaro

The new seat belt guides will have a **** in them that allows you to put the belt through it. If it's a used guide taken off another car it may not have the ****.

Here's your book info is below...
Most auto parts stores carry Haynes Manuals. You can order them from Haynes if needed. Or...often they are carried in your local library.

I have done Ford and Toyota clutches using these books. Clutch replacement is not hard, just time consuming...And easier if you have a lift.

Note: If like many vehicles, don't forget to replace the engine rear main seal while you have access with the fly wheel off.

You can call Haynes and ask specifically if the book covers the repair you are attempting. I have called them to get more specific wiring diagrams not always provided with the books. Very helpful in providing tech data... I have a Haynes manual for all my vehicles...makes maintenance and repair much easier than researching every I need to do something to my vehicles.

Best of luck finding the information you need...

1993 Saturn SC2 will not crank, but tries to turn over?

You are saying the engine cranks but does not start, right ?
Does it sound like it has compression ? If not could be a broken timing belt.

Whenever I open or close the doors the automatic seatbelts do not move. The seatbelts aren't a good position to be "Stuck" in. Please help?

they are worn out, nearly 20 years old and that stuff happens. the cost to buy new ones is more than the value of the car, if you can even find them. replacement seat belts for 91-95 saturns were over 400 dollars for each side and that was 5 years ago.

1997 Saturn SC2 squeals very loud the first 3-5miles

Try replacing the belt tensioner. Comes out easily, once you figure out access to it. Remove inspection panel inside front passenger side wheel well. Tensioner is right there, two bolts. If the spring gets weak, the belt will squeak.

1994 Saturn Auto seat belts stopped working

It looks like there is a 20A fuse labeled "rest" that powers and control module.

There seems to be a common problem with the passive restrain module located under the center console that gets damaged if someone spills water or soda on the consel.

Here is a thread about the module:

Automatic Seat belt on the door wont work

You will need to check the track to see where it is jamed. There might be some parts that needs to be replaced...the fuse is probably bad by this point, but get it free before replacing the fuse if it blowed.
