Take one of the battery cables off the battery and see if it sparks while removing it, if it does you have a shortage some where in the elect. system , this is the possible cause of the battery drain. If a shortage is present, you'll need to have wind or a fan blowing at the battery to keep gases from the battery blown away, as they are explosive,go to the fuse panel and remove one fuse, go to battery and touch the cable to the post, if it sparks, replace fuse and pull another one, once you pull a fuse and don't get sparks , then you located part of the problem, you have a shortage in this part of the system. At least this will let you know where the short is. Also, auto part stores sell a little switch which disconnects the battery, you can install one of these and flip the switch when not in use and prevent the power drainage.

2000 silverado battery drain

Have you had the alternator check for a bad diode it may not put out enough to keep the battery charged after 10 to 14 days. The bridge in the alternator could be weak. Hope this helps.

Can alternator put out 14.2 volts but not enough amps to charge battery and turn off dattery light?

Yes and no.
It sounds like you have a wiring problem.
The alternator output could be 14 volts and only one or two amps, but that would be enough to kill the warning light. Its more likely the alternator is charging but the current is not reaching the battery.

Nissan 2002 Pathfinder is draining its battery

If it's clicking, it's not a fuse , its a Relay. Relays Do sometimes stick. Or it can be clicking due to low voltage that was caused by something else.

To see if that's your issue, charge the battery, take the Relay out of the car and see if the battery stays charged after 12 hours.
If teh battery stays.. then first step is to replace the relay.

2 things come to mind, first check and clean all battery and starter connections. second, maybe you have something draining the battery. next time it rolls slow, put on a battery charger and see what happens. also, even though it is a new battery, it still could have a weak cell.

No such thing. If you have a new battery, and the alternator's testing fine then there's obviously something draining the battery.
You'll need a multimeter for this. First off, once started, test the battery voltage at idle. Then increase RPM to about 2000. The idle reading could be as low as 10 Volt(since you just put a massive drain on the battery but should pick up with RPM to aboout 13 Volt at least. It could even go up to 14 Volt.
If that is fine, shut down. Disconnect the neg pole on the battery. Switch your multimetre to Amps(You may have to move one of the meter wires to a current measuring connection on the meter.) Connect the leads between the neg of the battery and the cable that came off it. A reading any larger than 0.5 amps (500mA) could mean trouble. First thing I always check for is trunk and glove compartment lights. They may not be turning off with the lid closed. Next is aftermarket amplifiers. If incorrectly installed it does not shut down and drains the battery in no time at all.

1996 nissan maxima battery is not holding charge..

I'm thinking that either you have something draining power all the time or your battery is not getting its proper charge.Have you tried removing a battery cable when you park it to see if that makes any difference? That would tell you if something in the car is draining power. Have you had it tested to see how much power the alternator is putting out, should be close to 14 volts, and did you test to see if that power is getting to the battery? There might be a problem with the feed to the battery. Hope this helps.

My 2000 ford ranger and something draining battery

bad alternator possible or bad battery..even though its new that battery can be bad. I would take a volt meter and with the engine running check the volts of the battery..If the volts are 12 you need to replace alternator, if volts are 14 you need to check the battery. to check the battery hold the volt meter to the battery and have someone start the car..while the starter is cranking battery volts should not drop below 10volts.if they do your battery is bad.
