When I turn the engine off the blower motor keeps running and will not shut off

Most likely the resistor has shorted to hot. It is close to the blower.

1999 ford Taurus SE Blower motor runs with engine off and drains battery

Is it a temperature-controlled fan? I've seen some cars that run their fans for a few minutes after the car is turned-off, to cool-down the engine. After a few minutes, it will automatically shut off -- it also shut-downs when the "target" temperature is reached.

I have a 96 ford explorer v6 with a pushrod motor and after we replaced the pushrods, the head gaskets, the valve cover gaskets and the fuses, the car will not idle. what could be the problem?

Have you adjusted the pushrods properly? Pushrods generally need to be adjusted after installation.

Not sure how to do this on this model, although I own a 94 Ford Explorer with the V6 4.0 Liter motor.

Basically, when a gas engine doesn't run, you check 4 things, and narrow it down from there.

1. Gas (Is gas pressure good, is gas flow strong enough?)
2. Spark (are all spark plugs firing properly? Is spark strong enough)
3. Combustion at each cylinder (timing, pushrod adjustment)
4. Air Flow (MAF/MAP sensor working? Air Filter dirty?)

1995 ford explorer blower motor

Basically, you have a fan relay that has shorted and burned. The relay is used because of the different power setting needed for the fan speeds.

Trouble shoot all fuses, incase you blew a fuse when the relay went. The relay burned but that did not effect the motor, thats why the motor runs well.

To find the location of the hi speed fan relay, check with your local parts store to see if they can bring it up on a computer.

1995 explorer heater/ac blower motor

I would check to see if there is a short on the fan controller switch and the motor. sounds like a crossed wire, especially if it's ignoring your speed selection and running when the key is out. could be near the fuse box under the dash. the cig lighter circuit is live all the time as well as a couple others, it maybe crossing with it. I would pull the fuse panels assem down and check for crosses and shorts.
