2001 Ford F 150 Super Crew 5.4 just shut down and want start. Turns over, but want start

its called the cylinder head temp sensor,it is in the picture in the link http://s3.amazonaws.com/2cp-images/question_images/2824/large.jpg

The DPFE is on the side of the throttle body and it has two vaccuum lines attached to it. Two screws hold it in place...if you have an updated version it will be mounted on the firewall. If you have the new one in hand it will be easy to locate and replace. I hope this helps.

Could be 1 of 2 types.
1st type has a single crew in the bottom of the overhead console, with a screw in it, and spring clips towards the display.
2nd type is held on with spring clips only, they are hard to pull out the 1st time.
Check which type you have.
The display, chances are the display has had one of the resistors come loose, these are 51 ohm resistors, and could just have 1 side that came unsoldered, or could be missing all together.
This is what the SuperDuty overhead console looks like when the resistors are missing ( these are 68 phm resistors, different than the F-150 ), to give you an idea of what to look for.

You may want to check the fuses, alot of times it may also be the coilpacks, go to a local parts stire and ask if the have a device that they can plug into your truck to see what the problem is.

It is mounted to the back of the throttle body.
You will have to remove the plastic throttle body cover to see it

check the wiring harness between the door and the cab of the truck,you may have a broken or bad wire in the harness between the two that makes contact when the doors are shut.hope this helps,good luck.
