It's the gas. That vehicle was designed to work with 89 Octane Minimum which is the mid grade in most areas. The high octane is usually 93 but the low octane or regular is normally about 87 octane and that doesn't work well in that vehicle. You have a few choices. Drain teh tank and put the proper fuel in the vehicle, Get a bottle of fuel injector cleaner and if you are below a half tank fill it up with High grade, 92 or 93 octane, or get a bottle of octane booster and fill the tank up with mid grade or better fuel to run out that low grade fuel that is giving you problems.

Luxury cars often call for premium gas because they have a higher compression ratio. You can ruin a porshe motor by running the cheap stuff! Get 2 bottles of octane booster, any brand should work. Dump them into your gas tank and let it idle until it smooths out. My wife's blazer will kick the check engine light on if she buys the wrong stores gas. They are not all the same, and my guess is you will have to shop at different chains to find a blend your car "likes"

I put regular gas in my 1999 lincoln town car and now it's running rough, what do I need to do?

Is the check engine light on ?
Normally the computer will try to change the timing to compensate for the lower octane of the fuel. Once you use half of the tank you could put premium in and mix it.
But if the check engine light is on and you have a miss, the problem could be something other than the cheaper gas.

I just bought a 1998 Lexus LS 400 and I put PLUS gas in the tank instead of PREMIUM will this effect my engine?

It should run ok, it might not get as good as mileage you would with premium and it might not have normal performance as with premium.

I just brought used 1995 oldsmobile aurora and it's about 125,000.00 miles on there and I went and put regular gas in there not knowing that it run by premium gas and now it rus and starts but as soon as...

Regular is not causing your problem, while it is recommended that you use premium fuel, it will adjust timing for regular-your issue is something else. If it stalls at a light, is there any check engine light? Things that might cause this are Idle Air Control valve, the Throttle Position Sensor-it might also just need a good old-fashioned tune-up, plugs, plugs wires, air filter, oil change. fuel filter-since you just bought it, you have no real way of knowing what is good and what isn't, so you should either find a honest mechanic or do the work yourself. I have a 2001 Aurora, they are great cars and have great engines, but they can be a challange to work on, so first determine if the basic stuff is good-air filter, clean the throttle body, if the plugs and plug wires are old, change them. that's a good start, from there if you need an IAC or TPS, local junk yards are full of them (they use Caddy components too) so you can save a lot that way.

Problems with my 2000 Lincoln Ls V8.......Engine Knocking?

spark knock is usally poor fuel.
try a tank or two of premium with cleaning additives.
if that works when try the next lower grade untill the knock returns.
then just use the lowwest grade that did not knock.

I hace a 2003 lincoln ls v8 3.9l. I was driving

Try taking the exhaust pipe loose at the manifold. I had a Chevy Suburban that acted the same way, it turned out to plugged catyletic converter. The converter wasn't letting the exhaust out, the truck had no power, it would stall and then start right up and great for about five seconds the run rough and quit. Once I disconnected the exhaust it started right up and ran great. You could also try taking the O2 sensors out (for test purposes) ahead of the converter that will give the exhaust a place to go

What type of gas should i use in a 2005 lincoln navigator?

HI. i recommend using the premium in this vehicle. This will ensure optimal performance. The fuel system will accept the regular blend as well but, this is not what this vehicle was engineered for. the regular blends octane level is not sufficient for optimal acceleration and overall performance.

Please rate and god bless:)

Super-unleaded or premium gas for 2006 lexus ls 430

Well, of course premium is HIGHLY recommended, but it is not necessary.
You can use regular grade in your engine and it will not harm it at all. Modern engine management systems have knock sensors that detect lower grade fuel and make the necessary adjustments to your timing and fuel delivery systems.
All you will notice is slightly slower acceleration and a slight drop in engine horsepower.

Hope this helps...

2002 lincoln ls v8 is putting.

i just had mine fixed for that very same problem YESTERDAY.....you have several "coils"/sparkplugs that should be replaced....MISFIRE....you should have it put on a machine that will read which one it is....problem targeted. The best thing to do though is change all of them. they break 1 after the other. i replaced 2 within 3 months. Later i decided i didn't want to go have it done once a month, so i bit the bullet and spent the money.....
