SOURCE: vw bettle driver side crash sensor location

never heard of theis but yes it sounds right ,i would look in the door or the door pillar

How to read fuse on vw bettle 2001 for signals
the owners manual should have a section with all the fuse locations. ie. turns siganals 10. then under the lid of the fuse panel it will have the layout of fuses with the numbers. take the fuse out and check to see it the metal strip inside it burnt and seperated.

I'd check the bulbs first.
