I changed the battery in my ford focus and now the radio does not work , asks to insert code... How do i fix this

You can get Ford radio codes emailed to you from the serial number for a small fee from here: FORD RADIO CODE United Kingdom Gumtree

because you disconnected the battery the radio has gone into anti theft mode and will not work until the correct code is re inserted in the radio.. Find the code in the owners hand book or get it from a ford service centre of you may be able to get it on line

get the code from the dealer .but may be asked to prove the car is your first.

the sterio is damaged by heat, or the code is wrong.

try 6479

I pulled the fuse
put the fuse back in
turn on the radio, insert a CD
pulled the fuse again, counted to 5
inserted the fuse again
while the CD started playing I clicked the Menu button and used the tunning dial to select default settings, and it asks if you want to reset default choose yes.
my radio works fine now!

hi there sharondav are u able to remove unit & look for serial no. on side unit serial no. starts with m & is six figure no.u need radio pins to take unit out which u can purchase at local car accessories or if you ask nicely u can ask u r local ford garage to take unit out it you can i will be able to get radio code for u.

I have a 2001 focus ..radio suddenly stopped playing after being at garage.  I thought that the battery was disconnected and the radio neede reset code, as it has a rad blinking dash anti-theft light.  i went to ford garage and they told me they don't have reset codes on the focus.  Is this true?
