Buy your battery there is a master fuse link that burns out to protect the systems. It is a smaller section of wire Lighter gauge that burns and separates. feel for it and look for bubbled wire coating.

first un plug the lighter use a test light ground 1 end and see if thare is power ive seen alot of the lighters be bad for what ever the reason if you have power to the wire with the key on its the lighter if not the best thing to do is put in a new wire to the fuse box that comes on with the key thare are always extras in the fuse box
hi...well i know this might not be of any help, but you can buy a connector that plugs straight into the ford plug, and then you plug the jvc plug/s into that, not cutting wires no messing up the original connector just incase you want to sell the car with original system in it...

That fuse is usually located in the fuse panel under dash, driver's side. Remove the cover and look inside, you'll find a lay out of the fuses position, name and amps. Look for the fuse that says CIG. LIGHTER.
