Look at the fuse panel to see what size fuse is used for the lighter. That's your amperage for the lighter outlet.

1995 Ford Escort Wagon, turn on the key NOTHING happens. No click no dash lights no start.

Buy your battery there is a master fuse link that burns out to protect the systems. It is a smaller section of wire Lighter gauge that burns and separates. feel for it and look for bubbled wire coating.

this could be your problem and is a simple fix. Mike

My power outlet in my 1995 Ford Mustang has stopped working. I replaced the fuses under the hood of my car with 20 amp fuses for the issue and still the power outlet isnt working. Is there something wrong...

first un plug the lighter use a test light ground 1 end and see if thare is power ive seen alot of the lighters be bad for what ever the reason if you have power to the wire with the key on its the lighter if not the best thing to do is put in a new wire to the fuse box that comes on with the key thare are always extras in the fuse box

Hi im putting in a JVC cd/radio in a 1997 ford escort TD,Ive removed factory fitted Ford radio cassette, leaving 5 wires connected to a yellow plug,I have 3 wires coming out of JVC marked yellow memory back...

hi...well i know this might not be of any help, but you can buy a connector that plugs straight into the ford plug, and then you plug the jvc plug/s into that, not cutting wires no messing up the original connector just incase you want to sell the car with original system in it... http://productfinder.autoleads.co.uk/productinfo.aspx?&m=FORD&f=ESCORT&id=463&pID=6889
thats the link for it...if you tell me what colours are on the ford plug i could tell you what goes where...thanks

I need to know where the fuse is for the power outlet / cig lighter on a 2003 ford escort zx2

Hi!!
That fuse is usually located in the fuse panel under dash, driver's side. Remove the cover and look inside, you'll find a lay out of the fuses position, name and amps. Look for the fuse that says CIG. LIGHTER.
Good Luck!! Don't forget to rate this post!!
