A possible solution, Sounds like you may have a clogged cataletic converter or converters have convertors checked at muffler shop and replace if clogged
drive shaft or clutch is gone "missing a few teeth" which will not let you shift to a higher gear or possible your rev count is set to wrong your rev count needs to be set above one
sounds like to me the catalatic converter is plugged up, usually if you cant get an engine to rev anything over 2000 2500 rpms it has a breathing problem... its a real good possiblity its the converter causing your problem, especially if you had problems with another engine at any time, with like antifreeze issues, or fuel issues.. it goes strait to the exhaust and out the tail pipe. hope this helps
I had the exact same problem on my 04 GC. I put some Techron Concentrate Plus Fuel System Cleaner in from Wal-Mart and it seemed to fix the problems right away. Let me know.
if you have the 3 speed 1.7 litre engine. you should be pulling 3100 rpms at 100km/h I have heard claims that people have had there's running @ approx. 2000 rpms with a different differential. If you have the 5 speed, it'll be slightly lower at 3000 rpms.
