Tail lights and dash lights not working? Fuse? Which one and where?

Have you checked your tail light's as well? Chevrolet's dash light's wont work if you have blown a tail light fuse. Their way of letting you know you have no tail lights. check the tail light fuse and go from there. Good luck..

Dash lights are on the same fuse as the tail lights. Dash lights not working is an indication that the tail lights are not working. The first thing to check is that the tail light fuse is not blown. Most of the time replacing the tail light fuse will restore both the tail lights and the dash/interior lights. If this is not the case you may have to trace the wires and look for a broken or unplugged wire in the harness.

American cars traditionally put their dash lights and tail lights on the same fuse so that you would notice immediately when the fuse for the tail lights failed. Find the tail light fuse in your fuse box and check it.

Automobile companies make the dash lights stop working to let you know that the tail lights are out. Usually it is just an indication that you have blown a tail light fuse. First make sure that you do not just have the dimmer turned down on the dash lights. But if the dash and tail lights are out, first check the fuse block to see if the fuse for the tail lights has blown. If you change the fuse and it blows right away you will have to start searching for electrical shorts.
Another tell is when you notice that the turn signals are flashing faster than normal. This means that one or more of your turn signal bulbs has burned out.

Look at fuse #18, a 15 amp fuse, in the fuse block. This fuse powers both the tail lights and instrument cluster lights. Usually both of these light systems are powered by the same fuse so when your cluster isn't lit up you'll know right away that your tail lights aren't working as it's not safe to drive without tail lights. Check your fuses its probably just a blown fuse ,the tail lights and dash lights are linked through the same fuse.

You probably have an open/blown tail/park lamp fuse. The dash light fuse gets power from the tail/park lamp fuse, so when you can't see your dash lights, you'll get the vehicle looked at and find you have no park/tail lamps either. It's a safety feature because otherwise you may never know your running lights are not working.

Check your tail light fuse, on the dodge ram the dash lights and tail lights use the same fuse so if the tail light fuse blows your dash lights will go out to alert you of no tail lights.
