My first guess is that they're crooks BUT some vehicles do have various components mounted above the battery, which requires that they be removed to access the battery. You should be able to look at the battery and see how much stuff is mounted above it. If unsure, take it to your local auto parts store, most of them will replace it for free if it is not too much trouble.

Dash gauges stopped working. what fuse needs to be replaced

Envoys (and Trailblazer, Bravada, Ascender) between '03-'06, came from the factory with defective designed parts installed in the gauge cluster. Gauges can malfunction at most any time, most commonly with battery low voltage issues. Dealer cost may vary between $500-$700 depending on location. There may be someone in your local area who specializes in Gm gauge repair. Costs are usually reasonable. Research youtube for more info. Good luck.

My 2008 Land Rover LR2 HSE key fob won't

So did you fix your problem? I'm now having the same exact problem. The key simply doesn't work; HOWEVER, I know the key is not dead. I also have a 2008 LR2 and there is no "Battery" in the key fob. I compained countless times to the dealer that the key would just stop unlocking doors on me. They told me the battery charges when it is in the ignition but there is no battery to replace. They recommeded I rotate my main and spare key to make sure they're both always charged. Well, I do, and same problem.

This problem started one year ago and I complained that I should not have to spend $500 for them to replace the key... because a 3-year-old key SHOULD NOT be dying. And not to mention, a large chunk of that $500 is for them to "program" the key.

I have an appointment on Friday at a certified Land Rover repair shop but NOT the dealer. The shop I called said the '08 LR2 has "huge key issues." I have had it with Land Rover and their lack of interest in helping deal with the problem, which I might add is clearly THEIR problem, if so many are having similar problems.

I will post an update after my appointment Friday.

The radio stays in "safe" mode. The car battery is brand new, and no fuses are blown. What else could cause this?

whenever you disconnect the battery, the radio will need a code fed into it,this is available from your local dealer for a charge in the USA but NOT anywhere else, the first owner may have written a 4 digit code in the service book(fat chance)if you are outside USA specialist dealers can recode your radio(at a cost)but i have found its better to buy a new radio with a aux input for mp3.(matter of choice.)but cos i live in England, labour rates are £85 per radio costs £45 fitted.please tell all your friends re the radio code, could cost them a lot of inconvenience/money.especially if a "friend"replaces thier radio...........

Remote door lock does't work have to use key to open door

Replace the battery in the keyless entry. Pry the plastic apart and look at the battery...should look like a watch battery or simply take it to a dealer and they should replace for the cost of the battery.
If this doesn't work it will need to be reprogrammed. You manual should tell you how.

Not many engines are repaired internally anymore. They are replaced and it is usually very expensive. Regular maint. will keep these vehicles running for a long time. Poor maint. will cost lots of money as the miles pile up. Looks like your Hyundai went quite a few miles before it required an engine.
