Oldsmobile problems

Danger! Always connect the charge fitting to the low side of the system and use the proper refrigerant. All low side fittings have been the same since around 1993. It looks like you are trying to apply the charge to the high side of the system. THIS CAN CAUSE THE CAN TO EXPLODE. Find the low side charge fitting. The low side will have a wider hose or tubing. A 134A charge kit will have the proper fitting to fit your car. The fitting might be hidden but when you find it the charge connector will fit on it.I recommend you use a charge kit with a pressure gauge. On a hot day it should read about 30-40 psi

Just want to make sure that the a/c low pressure line is located high is the a/c low pressure located in the back of engine compartment and high for easy access

Typically the the low pressure/suction line is a bigger pipe/tube, as far as location it depends on the car. The bigger AC line is almost 99 percent of the low pressure. Usually on the cap it will say most of the times to there is a different hydraulic fitting for the low and high side. Most cars I have seen have a little tag that will say suction or low pressure line, and or discharge high pressure.

If you are re charging the gas, always use the low pressure side of the system.

Which port is the low side-(fill side) used to put freon in a 99 mercury mystique 6cylinder

Hello, the low side is normally the one closest to the big silver tank looking thing, also if you bought a refill kit at a parts store, the hose that comes with the kit will only fit on the low side port, and it will Not even fit on the wrong high side port, the low side will have a smaller fitting and high side has a bigger fitting that will make it impossible to screw it on to that high side, so don't try to jam it on , if it doesn't fit nice your at the wrong port. one more thing when you buy a refill kit, it will have some directions as to witch is the low side port, Good luck with cold air system.

Need to recharge the a/c in a 2007 Saturn Vue. Where can I find a diagram that shows the different hoses and lines? Or which hose or line do I use for the Freon?

you always recharge on the low side. The low side is the larger lines/hoses. the high side is the smaller lines/hoses. The low side fitting on the a/c system is smaller than the high side fitting. this is so that the low side and high side can not be hooked backwards accidentally. The fitting on your can of recharge will only fit the low side fitting on the a/c system.

To find the low side fitting on your a/c system to recharge it simple follow the low side line/hoses (the larger ones) until you see the fitting which usually has a plastic cap over it. Follow the instruction on the can of recharge and you should be good to go.

If you have any other questions I'd be more than happy to answer them.

I have a 2006 Envoy, and it appears to freon is low. I purchased a can of freon from Auto Zone. Tried to put the nipple over the lower valve and it won't connect and snap in. I end up sending freon...

ok, there is a high side, high pressure line, and low side, low pressure line, for your AC. That refill can you purchased has an R134a connector. It will only connect to the low side of teh AC system as they are different sizes. If you try to connect it the best case scenario is what you described, the connector won't lock in place and it sprays every where. The worst case scenario is the can blows up. Make sure you have the can completely connected and the connector locks down or your on the wrong valve and may damage your system or injure yourself.

Where is the low side pressure fitting for the ac

follow the thicker pipes vs. the thinner pipes to find the low pressure side fitting. It might have a blue or black screw on plastic protective cap with an o-ring.

The charge kit will have a tube that has an end that fits only the low side quick connect pressure fitting.

Good luck getting colder air conditioning!

I need to add refrigerant and would appreciate confirmation of the low pressure point of access.

It's the one with the blue cap. Your hose won't fit on the high side, so you're safe.

I want to do ac charge cant see fitting to do this

Ther are two fittings in the system, the low and high sides. You want to charge through the low side. Following the line from the firewall(right side) on the Aluminum expose pipi there should be a fitting. The fitting is larger than the high pressure side and cannot be mistaken. The high pressure lfitting is smaller and on a small steel line coming from the condensor in front of the radiator. Both are accessible working from top of engine.
