1997 bmw 323i blower working but no air coming out of vents

USUALLY A VACUUM LEAK, CAUSES THE AIR TO BLOW THRU THE DEFROSTER VENTS. IF THIS IS TRUE. CHECK THE VACUUM LINES UNDER THE HOOD (USUALLY THIN BLACK PLASTIC OR RUBBER) AND WHERE THEY CONNECT TO THE HVAC CONTROLLER IN THE DASH. LISTEN FOR THE LEAK WHILE THE ENGINE IS IDLING. IF NOT, COULD BE DAMPER DOOR MOTOR STUCK OR INOP. GOOD LUCK!

I have a BMW X5 4.4L 2001 model. The problem is with the air quality. There seems to be some smell coming out of the aircon and sometimes smoke comes in also.

The air/con ducts can get a buildup of '****' in them. The dealer will charge a lot to fix this.Get some Glen 20(anti-bacterial spray) and with the vents in recirculating cycle, spray it in the inlet vents under the dash in the footwell area. Also get a spray called odour-off.Use this also. For about 10 dollars you can fix the problem. It works. The smoke coming out is usually condensation mist and nothing to worry about.Hope this helps

The a/c on my 2000 bmw 323i blows warm air when I stop at a redlight? It works fine when the car is moving..blowing cool air. Help?

Sounds like your fan is not working. If it is electrical, may be bad relay, fuse or fan motor. If it is mechanical, most likely the clutch is bad.

Climate control display

hi amanda this kind of cars have very coming problem with the a/c control head wich is the swtch assembly where you turn the a/c on, i'm almost positive tahn you need a new or used digital display or head control for a/c wich is the same but people call it diferent, before you take it to an auto repair and have them charge you for guessins or trying to find the problem, get another a/c control head and have them replace it, good luck
