Where is the Crankshaft sensor on a 1997 Dodge Stratus 2.4L?

The automatic shutdown (ASD) relay will turn off power to the coil(s) and fuel injectors if the PCM is not receiving a signal from the crankshaft position sensor. You can check the ASD relay, but the problem is almost always a crankshaft position sensor or the wiring/connectors between the PCM and that sensor.

try your crankshaft postion sensor and camshaft positon sensor

Crankshaft Position Sensor usually causes this...your Auto Parts store should be able to help you find the location

Cam is on the end of the block, crankshaft sensor is on the bottom of the block. Both are easy to change....are you changing these due to poor performance or no start condition?

go to parts store and buy a easy out set.. this tool will back out the broken half for you...keith...

If you have a 2.0 or a 2.4L engine, it is located on the bottom backside of the motor that faces the cab area. You need to jack the car to get to it because of the low ground clearance of the car. I have a 1997 Stratus and replaced mine already.
