How mechanically inclined are you ? Can you pull the HVAC control module ? Maybe one of the pins baked out ,( if he, who ever fixed rear defroster was in there to test the circuit ) Connector 1
Description: 16-Way F Micro 64 Modular (BU) pin 9 ,L-GN/BK Ambient Air Temperature Sensor Signal wire . These are very small wires and terminals , could have been spread apart , not making good connection . Or take it back to who fixed rear defroster, if he did it he should fix it no charge !
Interesting. If it is a vac leak you should be able to plug the line from the intake to kill the leak. My guess would be the idle speed control is raising the base idle to cover the load the ac compressor would put on the engine. If the compressor is not working, the computer would not know.
The wiring should not be crossed unless it was in a bad accident that pinched wires or a repair was done to it by someone who did not know what they were doing.
You seem to have several issues, if you are mechanically inclined, I would recommend that you begin by replacing both, ignition switch and the turn signal switch, which also activates your high / low beam. Then proceed diagnosing the park brake problem and finally your ABS issue.
IAC yes it can but it would not affect high speed condition so let rule it out. A open PCV valve or rupture vacuum hose can do it but again it wont affect high speed (going on a incline ) so the only thing that can cause rough idle and drivablity on incline would be a misfire you will need to remove the (COP) coil on plug and inspect the boot area for any burn through or better yet clean the top of the COP. Then closely inspect the top and check for any crack at the expoxy (they have a tendency the crack) and that would cause the problem you are dealing with
just need to replace the switch not to familiar with how the assembly comes out but should just be the switch you may be able to pick it up at a parts store but it may be a dealer part
Hi, if this is a auto built before 2004, audi used a 5 plate clutch which is renowned for going wrong , check fluid level in transmission first. good luck.
I have the same problem. I've heard the ignition switch harness is shorting out and replacing the ignition switch ($75-$125 part) will fix it. A few torx drivers and sockets are needed to replace it (a 4mm hex socket works for the column covers, but the bolts holding the ignition switch in are even smaller. I have it apart down to where I need a smaller torx socket to continue.)
