1999 Lincol Continental won't start. Very fast security light flash when it tries to turn over. Started doing this once every couple months. I would slam the hood and/or doors and it would start right up. now it just won't fire and nothing seems to work. Put it on two code machines and showed no errors, changed fuel pump, new battery for security system remote HELP!!! HELP!!! HELP!!!

Have you checked the serpentine belt ?

You need to have the electronic engine control system computer scanned for fault codes first.

Have you tried the reset method? Turn key to the ON position and leave it there for 10 minutes, or until the security light goes off. Then turn key to off, and back to on and start-see if it starts after letting it sit for a few minutes like that with the key in the on position.

Check the dash once you turn the key to the run position the passlock runs a security check using a set resistance value through the chip in the key. If the security light begins to flash the reading it received was incorrect or it didn't get a reading at all. You can try reseting the value it is looking for by turning the key to start then releasing it. After 10 minutes turn it off then cycle it start again leaving it in on for 10 minutes then back to off then one more time. After the third cycle has completed for a total of 30 minutes. You should be able to turn the key on and start the vehicle. If the light continues to flash their is a problem with the chip in the key or the connections within the ignition its self. Both are common but a Pass Lock Relearn as described above will usually adapt to the poor connection values. Hope this helps.

IF YOU REPLACE CRANKSHAFT SENSOR IT HAS TO HAS TO BE RELEARNED USING TECH 2 SCANNER.FOR THE IGNITION KEY REPLACEMENT.TURN IGNITION SWITCH TO THE ON POSITION FOR 10 MINUTES WITH ENGINE OFF.WHEN SECURITY LIGHT TURNS ITSELF OFF.THEN YOU TURN OFF IGNITION SWITCH FOR 5 SECONDS.THEN START THE ENGINE.

Sounds like you have bad gas. Gas goes bad after a couple months of sitting. I've gone through plenty of other options when trying to figure out this same problem, and it turned out to be the easiest problem of having old gas. Try running fresh gas straight into the fuel pump and see if it turns over then.

Securilock problem for your remote start? Check when you try to start it, if the security light is flashing fast it is probably the PATS (security system) bypass. To reprogram it you will need two keys. First insert the first one and turn it to the run position. When the security light shuts off insert the second key and turn it to run. Once the light has gone off the second time pull the key out and hit the start button on the remote start fob, this all has to be done in 10 seconds. The vehicle will start, shut it off and try it again. If it doesn't start look to see if the security light is flashing fast again if it is the bypass needs to be replaced. If the light isn't flashing fast and it still doesn't start it should be honking at you or flashing its lights, count these then look in your manual it will tell you what is wrong. Has fuel means you checked the fuel pressure and it is good? Do you have a flashing red light on the top of the dash? (security light)

I have the same problem with my 02 intrepid es. It started happening a couple months ago while Im driving. They just flash a couple times every once in a while. Its annoying and I dont know whats causing it. Just wanted to let you know you arent alone lol.

one of the door switches is sticking take one out at a time normally start with the driver side disconnect the battery on the negative side and then take the switch out and put a little oil ( WD-40 or some oil similar to that) because the switches could be rusty or bad causing this problem but you can take out the dome light bulb until you can get the problem fixed
