Replace spark plugs and look at coils. Sounds like a misfire at idle. Car is trying to keep idle high enough with 1 or 2 cylinders misfiring. Car compensates then revs up as the cylinders catch and run again. These cars often have bad coils. Scan car and look for codes 301 through 306. Replace all plugs and if misfire comes back then replace the coils on the cylinders that occasionally misfire. Look at boots and spring wires on coils and replace coils that have bad boots.
Sorry do not understand this F lark please use centigrade ,Anyway enough of winding up my colonial cousins but i do feel the problem is here quite simple and thats you have damaged a sensor with the extreme cold and without plugging in my OBDII reader and then using the thing to read the sensors with the engine running to check the voltages of things like the mass air flow and O2 sensors ect then i would have no idea offhand, iam not a master at being able to give a diagnostic from afar and i dont want to give you a load of codswallop to make myself look good .Best advice i offer is to take car to a dealer ,then clear the garage out get rid of the pool table ,or sling the illegal immigrants out and park your car in the garage with a nice little heater under the engine or one of them plug in heaters like the swedish home market cars have.
This sound like a fuel pump problem to me. I had the same problem. It would idle and rev fine but as soon as in gear or hav load to pull it will just die or struggle to stay alive. Done a fuel pump change and problem solved.
vacuum leak i assume your mileage is way down too... anyway look for a faulty rubber hose that may be elbow shaped having a hole or possible other lines..also your fuel injection has a sensor to regulate idle, have it scanned at autozone and see what comes up
If the check engine light is on, take the car to an autoparts store and have them use a scan tool to retrieve any fault codes stored in the computer. Most parts stores will perform the scan at no charge. Getting the codes will go a long way toward identifying what the problem is. I would look at a faulty idle air control valve, but getting the codes should end the speculation. Hope this helped and best wishes.
