The fuel filter in your 2004 Landrover Freelander is located inside the fuel pump module assembly. You must remove the fuel pump module from the vehicle and disassemble the fuel pump module to replace the filter. The fuel pump module is accessable by moving your rear seat and pulling the loadspace carpet back to get to the fuel pump access panel.

have you change plugs and fuel filter

changed my fuel filter yesterday,it can befound infront of the offside rear wheel attached to a plastic cover by to bolts,

Check under the vehicle for the fuel filter, look under the seating area on both side, if not there you will have to trace the fuel line from the gas tank forward and this will run you into the fuel filter.

? arnt all fuel filter underneath the car between the tank and the injector. just follow the line from the tank and i think youl find it

The fuel fillter is in the but you shouldnt have to drop the tank to get to it or the pump. Lift the back seat and you will see a plate held in place with screews take this off. Below this is a steel plate that you will have to spin off may need help fro a hammer as they are tight. Some are badged BWM. This gets you to the fuel pump and the filter

Lefthand side of the engine compartment bulkhead, if its a diesel, beneath the rear seat, (fold down), remove inspection panel, and remove pump, filter is inside, for petrol.

The fuel filter is located below the electrics box, half way between the battery and the bulkhead on the passenger side, under the bonnet. It is very difficult to see how it all fits, but it has a central screw which holds the plastic filter housing/mounting in place. Find this screw (which is a small self tapper) and be prepared to loose it, or use a magnetic screw driver. Then lift the plastic housing up and away, (towards the engine) be ready with loads of rags to catch the diesel fuel when you disconnect the pipes. There is an earth wire attached to the housing also. (anti interference, I think) It is quite a fiddle getting it back again, as it has two locating lugs on the back of the plastic housing/mounting.

Try cleaning the fuel pump filter. the filter is on the bottom of the pump inside the tank.You get to the tank from under the seat behind the driver. Job takes 10 mins.
