Where is the fuel filter on my '99 Huyndai Accent? (Hint: It's not under the rear seat)

The filter is located behind the rear seat.Remove bottom seat and the metal plate behind the seat

The fuel filter is located under the rear seat.
Fuel Filter Replacement:

1. Reduce the internal pressure of the fuel lines and hoses by completing the following operations:
   • After removing the rear seat cushion, disconnect the fuel pump harness.
   • Start the engine. Allow it to stop by itself, then turn the ignition switch OFF .
   • Disconnect the battery negative (-) terminal.
   • Connect the fuel pump harness connector.
   
   
2. Remove the eye bolts while holding the fuel filter nuts securely.
3. CAUTION: Cover the fuel filter with a shop towel to avoid residual gasoline from splashing.
4. Remove the fuel filter mounting bolts, then remove the fuel filter from the fuel filter clamp.
5. After replacing the fuel filter, check for fuel leaks.

fuel filter should be underneath car in front of rear passenger wheel

Under the rear seat there is an inspection plate housing the fuel pump. Lift the plate and the filter is next to the pump.

The fuel filter for a 2000 hyundai Accent is under the back seat. You just lift the seat with the tabs and under the seat is a little door. you just lift it up and the fuel filter is right there.

remove the rear seat bottom cushion , and remove the fuel tank access cover , remove gas cap to relieve any pressure , remove ground strap and fuel lines from the filter , remove filter ,, to reinstall reverse procedure . cheers.
