Hi i have a 04 kia sedona 2.9 crdi starting problem

As a general rule of thumb; all 4 cylinder engines are interference and all 4 cylinder engines use belts. If it had a chain it would be a 6 cylinder and it would not matter.

As I don't have any information on a 3.5I engine, and my data book only lists a 2.5, 2.9D CRDI for an 04 Sedona I can only give you the locations for these. The first pic is for the 2.5 camshaft sensor and the second is for the crankshaft sensor. the second set are for the 2.9D CRDI, I hope they help.

hi, As you have not stated which engine you need, here is a diagram for both 2.9 d crdi and also for the 2.5. I do have installation instructions if required, but it would save time to know which engine. there are also things to look out for if needed. not an easy job if you are not experienced.

If you have the CRDI engine yes codeing to be done. It will run without codeing but you wont get the benifit of the fuel economy. I can do it for you if your in manchester as i obtained the kia tool to do just that.

The engine belt routing. See pictures below:
1. For Kia Sedona 2.5 V6 engine (engine code GV6):



2. For Kia Sedona 2.9D CRDi engine (engine code: KJ):

REMOVAL OF THE PLUGS:

Do not attempt any maintenance on spark plug if engine is hot. 
1. Disconnect negative battery terminal. 
2. Carefully remove high-tension leads. 
3. Use compressed air to blow any dirt or debris from around spark plug hole. 
4. Check that spark plug fits squarely in spark plug socket and remove spark plug.

Raise a vehicle and install SST(OK552 131 001) in order to replace cylinder 2, 4, 6 spark plug. 

INSTALLATION:

1. Install spark plug into cylinder head.

Tightening torque : 18~22lb-ft (25~30N·m, 2.5~3.0kg-m)

2. Reconnect high-tension leads. 
3. Reconnect negative battery cable.
