What does your owner's manual recommend? Use 20w50 Synthetic Oil. It holds 9 quarts with filter change. I recommend you change it every 10,000 miles or every year whichever comes first. But always follow the manufactures recommendations if it is less than 10,000 miles.

Depends on the type of oil, temperature, and whether short hops or highway, but in general one changes oil twice a year. With the better synthetics you could go a whole year.

How many miles before oil change is needed

I drive quite a few miles in my 1998 LEXUS LS40 and have religiously changed the oil every 5,000 miles (and rotated the tires). Im pushing 185,000 miles on it now and I am due to change the timing belt a second time next weekend. That being said, I have never had any issues with the engine changing the oil at a 5,000 mile interval. I use the standard synthetic blend oil at the local quick stop type oil change places.

How often should I change the oil in my 2002 Nissan Frontier?

Some people change oil at 3000 miles, most people don't really care or keep track
I would say 3 times a year,if you drive less than 10,000 per year
4 times a year ,up to 20,000 miles per year driven
Use at least semi or full synthetic oil

Oil light goes on...had a dry stick 4 1/2 qts put in. no oil on ground. after oil change light went on at 70 miles.. on 15 secs then off for 5 miles then on again 15 secs--- off 4 miles--off 3 miles- off 2...

if it's not going onto the ground, and it's not being burned, check the positive crankcase ventilation and the exhaust gas recirculation valves for oil seepage...also check your air filter, if its got oil on it replace the pcv valve.
