Ive got a 2 wheel drive 85 gmc suburban 3/4ton with 454 and turbo 400. when i baught it there was a noise comin from tranny but only in first gear. it had no problems with shifting till i moved and towed a 16 foot trailer behind it. now when its cold the tranny shifts fine but when it warms up it shifts hard from 1st to 2nd and wont go into drive. sometimes i can drive it about 4 miles before it acts up other times i dont even make it a block. is there anything i could try without rebuilding it or getting a new tranny?

I have a 1998 GMC Suburban that pops out of gear sometimes I have to put in four wheel drive then back into 2 wheel drive then it fixes itself. I had the tranny and transfer case rebuilt but it still does...

Sounds like your talking about a transfer case problem,
need to have the truck to look over ,test, road test etc
Can't do anything from here, without the patient

My 1994 gmc suburban started leaking transmission fluid on the passengers side now it wont go over 30 mph

You need to find the leak (probably in one of the cooler lines or the pan gasket) fix it, and make sure you have the correct fluid level. If you do all that and it still won't go you probably wore out the internal components from driving it with low fluid. Good luck.

Need to put a new tranny in my suburban,95' 2 wheel drive

Your suburban should have a 4L60E transmission if it a 1/2 ton C1500. Mine is a 4 wheel drive, but it is the same transmission except for the tail shaft to accomodate the transfer case. The 3/4 ton trucks came with a 4L80E.
