Need a diagram to put a alternator belt back on a 1994 renault 19

Hello i have a 1996 renault clio 1.4 how do i take off the cambelt so i can put the alternator belt if anyone has any ideas of how to remove it i will be greatful

heres a diagram to show you how the belt goes i also labeled where to loosen the belt with a rachet, this releases the tension so the belt can be removed.

got to be a uk question ,fan belt and not serpentine belt ,anyway my all data books come later in the month hopefully from uk on a truck,so i would have a diagram but i dont have them at the moment so its from memory and starting at bottom pulley to ac pump then around the idler ,onto alternator back around idler /tensioner then onto power steering and then back to bottom pulley.I THINK or i could be confused with the renault ,old age it comes to us all iam afraid

If the same as my '94 cyl then you tighten the belt by loosening the bolt that the alternator pivots on and the bolt that tightens the alternator to it's adjustment bracket. For my truck this is neither fun nor easy. The a/c and power steering belts having idler pulleys with adjustments on them making them MUCH easier to deal with.

Try putting the belt on the alternator then slide it under the idler pulley last.

Looking at the engine from front (right side of the Van): Stating at the Top, Going Left to Right and Clockwise:
Over the Alternator
To under the Idle Pulley,
To Over the AC Compressor.
To the Left Side of the Water Pump.
To the Right side and Under the Crankshaft Pulley
To the Right side and Over and Down the Tensioner
To Under the Power Steering Pump
And Back up-to the Left side of the Alternator.
Advise when puting it on:
Put the Belt around everything else accept for the Alternator. After it is around all the rest of the Pulleys - Pull the belt up - tight from the Power steering Pump and the Idle Pulley to form a loop, holding the Belt close to the Altenator Pulley.
Using the 15mm wrench or belt tensioner bar - rotate the Tensioner Pulley towards the front of the Van and then place the belt over the Alternator.

To release belt, You need breaker bar with a 15mm or 19/32" socket . There a auto tensioner to left of the alternator. Place the socket on silver color bolt and pull breaker bar to the right this will relaese the belt.

there should be a diagram under the hood but if not then try www.autozone.com but normally you can just take the negative off the battery and take a rachet and a socket to fit and pry the tensioner away from the belt and take the belt off the alternator first and then draw yourself a diagram to show which way to put the new one back on
