I have a 1995 ford escort 1.9L. the beeper won't stop sounding when i take the key out. it does stop when i shut the door.

If your Ford Escort was made in the years 1995, 1996, 1997, 1998, 1999, 2000, 2001, 2002, or 2003, then you have one key that starts the engine, unlocks the doors and trunk. You can find the key code information stamp on the passenger door lock. You can take this key code to a locksmith shop and have them cut you a new key by the key code.

The brake pedal must come when the engine stops ,like a hand brake,never struck that one before.

It can be issue with faulty sensor or a wiring issue.Troubleshooting is required.

Sounds like a possible bad Solenoid, for the Starter. Maybe, bad Ignition Switch. No idea, without the Wiring Diagram. Do you own the Repair Manual? If not get one. Check for Power at Glow Plugs, when Engine is shut off. You will need a Test Light and DVOM.

Check all battery connections and battery condition. Check fuses and fuses in the power distribution box under the hood on left hand fender well. Hope this helps.

The waring chime is located above the fuse box under the dash, open door with the keys in the ignition, let it chime and follow the sound, it will make it easier to find, then unplug it. Hope this helps.

It sounds like you have serious injector issues.

Your ignition switch thinks the key is still in ignition.

Take some WD-40 or better yet some graphite powder and insert where key goes. Push key in and out. Relube again. Repeat key in and out.

This will lube the switch and hopefully free up the mechanism that is sticking.

If the computer in the air bag diagnostic monitor detects an open in the air bag indicator circuit and if another system fault exists, then the air bag diagnostic monitor will turn on its internal tone generator (beeper). The beep pattern is five sets of five beeps. The pattern is repeated every 30 minutes while the ignition switch is in the ON position. The five beeps do not indicate a code five or any other code. The air bag indicator circuitry must be repaired before the diagnostic trouble code can be read.
