My 2001 f350 keeps blowing the fuse to the starter

It may start a time or two after replacing fuse but blows again. Changed relay but still happening. There seems to be a heater motor running when the key is on but air and heat is turned off. Looked in steering column but looked ok.

Fuse s under hood keeps blowing. It is the inj/coil fuse

Try jumping the starter with the key on. If it doesn't blow. Check the start wire for chafing and grounding out. You can pull the starter relay, Try to start it, see if it blows, yes, it is between the fuse panel and fuel pump. no. Put it in and pull the fuel pump relay. Start it. If it blows, then it is some where between the fuse panel and starter. If you have one of those intelligent fuse panels, it could be that also. You can have the codes read for it. But it takes a scanner, not a code reader.

Replace the starter relay in the fuse box behind the glove box. The fuse ONLY powers the control coil portion of the starter relay. If it's blowing, there's a short in the winding or a short between the relay and the theft deterrent module. Bad relay is most likely culprit

Does the key get stuck each time? Replace the fuse with a 25 amp fuse and see if it still does it. If it still blows the fuse, then you need t have the starter tested to see why it is pulling so many amps.

1996 Dodge Stratus keeps blowing fuse to starter!

Need to look at symntec and see if there is a relay on the starter. Which there most likely is. and it is bad. Look at the fuse and see if there is another wire going from the fuse to a relay,if so replace that relay.

Keep blowing the starter relay fuse on my 1995 ford ranger

Had similiar problem on a old Austin Alegro 25 years ago.

2 reasons.
Starter had worn wire insulation. Used industrial yelow sticker foil on that.
Fuse blow in sane curve highway every time. Car was repainted and wire harness reinstalled unprofessionally previous owner.
Crawled half a day every square mm and yep a litle broke insulation on a positive cable grounding to chassis an blowing the fuse.

2001 Chrysler starting problem

Sounds like you might have a bad starter. I would take that one out and have it checked first of all.

I would have to look at a wiring diagram and see how that circuit is run but the fuse shouldn't do anything else but the starter and maybe the ign switch....

Can you get a wiring dia of the car? trace out that circuit and see if there is anything else that could be shorting out
