Renault Grand Scenic starting problems

I have an 05 plate Renault grand scenic 1.6 petrol and i am having problems starting it. Every now and again (usually once a day) when I start the car the engine makes a loud rattling noise abit like a diesel sounds and then cuts out once I try to re-start it always starts second time around. I took it to a garage but they told me everything is ok and they could not find any problems.

Any ideas?

The cylinder head gaskit is on it's way out! had this before! caused by water leeking into the cylider(s) and making the compresion come right up ! remember air /fuel mixture is compressable water is NOT!

'Check air bag' message on 2009 Renault Grand Scenic III. Checked plugs under both seats and they seem ok.

Hi. i had similar problem with my scenic and it turned out to be the battery near the end of its life. Several other faults also appeared such as "check injectors". hope this helps.
