Honda civic gli radio replacement won't work

Dannielle, if the previous owner installed the radio, it must have worked. It is possible that error code may have no connection with the replaced radio which may work when connected to battery. It depends on the complexity of the new radio. If it is simple, s/b ok.

I have a 2000 Malibu. It has a cassette and CD player and an auto tune button. My battery went dead, so I had it changed. Now my radio shows, what looks like, the digital code LOC. I don't know how...

the radio most likely has a security code activated & until you reactivate the code the radio will not work, you may have to take it to a place where they install radios to get the problem sorted out.........hope this helps........cheers,

My car radio needs to be reset. I have the code but don't know what I after I enter it.

The sequence of programming for 2001 VW Cabrio radio is:
1. Push simultaneous "SCAN" and "RDS" keys until on the screen will appear "1000" displayed.
2. Release keys. No more push on "SCAN" and "RDS" keys because otherwise number "1000" will be considered as first safe code attempt.

For example: we have the security code "5079". Then:
3. By the no.# 1 key you will set up the first safe code digit. Push 5 times on the no.# 1 button. The "5" number will be setted.
4. By the no.# 2 key you will set up the second safe code digit. Push 10 times on the no.# 2 button. The "0" number will be setted.
5. By the no.# 3 key you will set up the third safe code digit. Push 7 times on the no.# 3 button. The "7" number will be setted.
6. By the no.# 4 key you will set up the four-th safe code digit. Push 9 times on the no.# 4 button. The "9" number will be setted.
7. Then push again simultaneous "SCAN" and "RDS" keys for confirm this safe code. On the screen will be displayed "SAFE" notice. Release keys! For few seconds a radio frequence will be displayed.
The radio is now ready for use!

Battery went dead radio security kicked in and i don't have the code

I'm hoping that you are in the states, because I have a free stateside number that you can call. Here are a full set of instructions to get you sorted out:

If it says "OFF" turn the key to ACC for 5 minutes with the radio on, and displaying "OFF". After 5 minutes the radio will turn itself off. Turn the key off then back on again. The radio should now display "CODE". If this doesn't work disconnect the battery for 5 minutes, and repeat the 5 minutes radio on displaying "OFF" with key in ACC until the radio turns itself off. Now that it says "CODE" go to step 2. The radio must display "CODE" to enter unlock code.

  • 2 Find the radio serial number The radio's serial number is on the left side of the case that is inside the dashboard. You will have to remove the fascia that is around the radio carefully to reveal it. In most models you can use a small dental style mirror to see the code without completely removing the radio. If you can't see it this way you will have to take it all the way out. Don't disconnect anything just pull it out far enough to see the numbers. The model number starts with MNxxxxx, this is not the number you need. The serial will be an 8 digit number, no letters. It will be close to the model number however.
  • 3 Now that you have your serial number call Mitsubishi Motors of North America at 1-888-648-7820, M-F 7am - 4pm Pacific time. They will give you your unlock code for free.
  • 4 Now that you have your unlock code you have to enter it into your radio. They should take you through this on the phone, however, here's how:

  • The 1,2,3,4 preset buttons on your radio toggle up only through the digits 0-9. The 1 preset button is the first digit holder, and so on for the 4 digit code. If you go too far just keep pressing the button, and it will go back to 0, and you can get back to the right number. If your unlock code has a 0 in it you have to press the button once to get to 0. It starts with a dash (-). This doesn't count as the 0. For instance if your unlock code is 0873, you will press preset 1 once, preset 2 9x, preset 3 8x, and preset 4 4x. Once you have the correct number in the diplay press the "CD" button, and it will unlock your radio. If you didn't do it right, it will display "ERR1" before going back to the "CODE" display. Don't mess up more than twice. After the third failed try things get a lot more complicated!

Just bough the truck, the loc is on the radio.how can i unlock it. don't know the code for it. thanks for any help!

    Taken from:
    http://autoforumz.com/Pontiac-Help-u...pict40505.html

GM DELCO THEFTLOCK RADIO UNLOCK CODE:
    1. Press and hold presets 2 and 3 for about 5 to 10 seconds until you
get 3 digits on your display. This is the first 3 of 6 digits you will
    need, so write 'em down.
    2. After doing step one and writing down the code, immediately press
    the
AM/FM button to get the last 3 of the 6 numbers you'll need, and write
'em down. (if you wait too long between steps 1 and 2 and the LOC code
    displays again, just start over).
    3. Call this number, it's a prerecorded message, so don't worry about
having to talk to anyone...1-800-537-5140. The voice will ask if
    you're
calling for Chevy, Pontiac, Cadillac, etc... When you here him tell
    you
to press "2" for Pontiac, press 206010 and hit the # key. He'll ask
    you
for the 6 digit code that you've written down. Enter that and press
    the
    * key. He will then give you a code, and the option to get additional
    4
digit codes, but one should be sufficient.
    4. Follow the normal procedure in your owners manual for unlocking the
radio with your new code...press the hour set button on your radio
    until
you get the first two numbers of the code, then press the minute set
button until you've entered the last two numbers. Immediately press
    the
AM/FM button once the correct code is entered and the code SEC or
"secured" will be displayed on the display screen. Now, just turn the
radio on, and your ready to roll.
There is an additional step you can take to remove all codes from the
radio and start from scratch by entering your own personalized 4 digit
code so that it won't get you in a pickle again! Just repeat step 4
    and
you should get a display screen that reads ---. This means the code is
out, and you can now program your own code. Of course, once you
    receive
the 4 digit code from the GM recorded message, just keep it in a safe
place, because you can use that same code again and again should you
have any more problems with it in the future. Good luck, and yes, it
    does work.

If this doesn't work, you'll have to physically take the truck to a GM dealership, or purchase a new radio.

Got new battery don/t know what my radio code is for a 1992 acura legend dont know what kind of radio it is either? Help me please?

If its asking for a code then its the factory radio, the problem with the code for a radio is that you cant just get a code. You have to go to the dealership and they run ur vin number and give u the code then. They will fix it but MAKE SURE you write the number down they wont want to give u the number but make them. Only dealerships can do this. good luck
