If your door has a wobble at the hinge or hinges the brass bushings are worn causing this noise to stay. With new bushings the noise will be gone. Also a door check is mounted between the two door hinges to keep the door from opening too far. That may need lubracation too. If the bushings in the door are shot you will need to replace very soon or else the door will sag more wearing out the latch which catches door shut

WD 40 is a water displacement formula not a lubricating product.

Try a oil hand pump with some light engine oil on the henge directly.

After a few days this should help.

Hope this tip helps.

My door ajar light stays on in my ford f150 king ranch crew cab

Have you tried WD-40 in the door latch ? Some times the contacts in the door latch get gummed up, and the door switch stops working. A good soaking on the door latch, and close / open a few times and another soaking of WD-40 usually does the trick with the door latch switch.

My 2005 mazda tribute driverside door won't stay closed it seems like it won't latch how do i fix it?

Try spraying latch assembly liberally with WD-40 or similar product and silicone to prevent freezing

If that doesnt help replace the latch.

The door handle mechanism is stiff and i fear it wont be long before I cant open the door at all. It did happen before when the car was under warranty.

Hi
Try WD-40 all around the handle, inside the lock from the underside of the hadle everywhere. I had the same problem and the WD-40 freed it up for a while although I did have to repair it in the end, the fault on mine was the interior door handle was not retuning all the way back to the closed position, Do your electric windows come down slightly when opening the door and closing the door? if so you may need to remove the door card/trim and free up the cable on the inside of the door its an easy job once the door card if off.

Hope this helps

My 1997 Jeep Grand Cheroke's doors close funny. Both of them don't close smoothly. Anyone else have this problem? It's not when the door latches it's during the close, like something is bent but it's on...

Each door has two hinges. The bottom hinge has a lever spring and two rollers attached that prevents the door from swinging freely when it is opened or closed. (one roller for opening and one for closing) If the door seems like its bent, it is probably because the rollers are frozen and when you open/close the door the lever spring is scraping across the raised edges of the rollers instead of riding them. If the door is not moving smoothly, or is making loud creaking noises, give a good dose of WD-40 to the hinges as well as the rollers, especially the rollers. The rollers should roll when the lever spring engages it as you open/close the door.

Try putting a screwdriver in to act as catch on door frame & try pulling each handle & getting it to let go. Make sure you spray it, as well as behind it & around it with WD-40 or similar to get things loosened up in case their just partially seized. The keep working it with screwdriver until freed up.

Creaky car door

Do not use oil.....or WD-40
Use a good quality penatrating lubricant [spray].....such as Valvoline or Berryman's.....
Spray into the pins and slide bar, then work the door back-n-forth....several times .till
you no longer have a squeek, etc.

If the problem persists, hold the door and see if there is any up-n-down movement...
You could possibly have bad door hinge that needs to be replaced.....

2003 Explorer door ajar light stay on when all doors are closed

I had this problem on my 2003 explorer and took WD40 and gave the lock mechanism a good dose where it meets the clasp on the door jam. Then open and close the doors a couple of times to get them working. They get gummed up and sometimes have a tendency to stick.

97 Lincoln Contiental drivers door ajar message stays on what can i do? Can I remove the door jam sensors or door ajar warning relay? If I can where exactly are the located

It is a sticky sensor in the door latch mechanism. Spray it w/ WD-40 and follow up with a dose of silicone spray. Open/close doors several times and it should be ok. If you have a problem with 1 door the other 3 are sure to follow---DO THIS TO ALL 4 DOORS!!!!!!!!!
