Car run hot what is the problem

First thing to check is probably a stuck thermostat. Then the water pump. Head leak. The price and ease of most thermostats is usually replaced first, then further troubleshooting if needed.

I have a 1997 lincoln mark 8 replaced radiator water pump hoseses thermostat car still loses about a 1/4 gallon of coolant on a 120 mile trip compression is good no check engine lights no codes in system...

Friend, your only problem is a radiator cap that holds too much pressure and when hot enough will blow some coolant out. You'll never see it because it just dissipates from being hot. Swap out your radiator cap for a lower pressure one. I had to do this myself and the problem stopped.

Suspect you have a loose clamp on a radiator hose or the oil change guy made something leak. There is a tool which is similar to a a bicycle pump in that it pressurizes the water system and your engine does not have to run or be hot to test. Some major auto parts stores may have a loaner.

Its going to stay hot and lose pressure until you fix the leak.

undo the clip on the highest hot hose and see if you have any air in the system.
from your list of replacements i see you have not replaced the temp sensor for the fans,to test run a hot wire from the battery to the fan,if it runs then you know they work...unless they run when engine is hot anyway.....

the water pump and thermostat should have solved it. an air pocket can cause that but usually not to that degree.

don't get one of those cheap *** plastic impeller water pump for sissies. Get the metal impeller one. get a cool running thermostat and drill two 3/16" holes in it 180 degreess from each other. you may have installed the t-stat backwards.
