What engine do you have, V-10? It could very well be a vacuum leak, check the hose that goes to the brake booster, follow it back to the engine. That hose sometimes goes to a "T" fitting and there are other vacuum lines that go off of that, follow those too. Also check the PCV valve on the right hand (passenger side) valve cover, there's hose on that too it could be a faulty PCV valve too. Throttle body gasket or intake manifold gasket are also possibilities. If it's the Diesel engine, I guess I would start with the fuel filter. Does it start hard hot and cold? If it starts hard cold and smokes a lot you may have glow plug issues. On either engine I guess there could be a sensor that's going bad, are you getting a "Check Engine Light"?

It could be the "Injector Drive Modual" which is located on the left inner fender by the hood hinge. But, before you replace that you should check all the wire connection for the glow plugs and injectors. Where the wires go through the valve cover gasket, if those connection are all burned up and melted together, it will burn out the injector drive modual. I hope I'm thinking of the right engine, there should 4 connectors 2 on each valve cover, there are 4 more connectors inside the covers 2 on each side. Remove the valve covers and check them all. The injectors operate on high voltage and the glow plugs on low voltage, if they short circuit together it will take out that modual and you won't get any codes. You may want try and find a used one at a juck yard (car-parts.com) because the are kinda spendy from Ford, I think they have reconditioned ones available too.

2001 ford f150 code p1131 truck won't reff past 3000 rpm when it trys to it spits and sluggers 4 codes came up p0171,0174,1131,1151Was intermediate now it does it all the time .check engine lite is on

Trouble code P1131 means that the powertrain control module has detected a lean condition for engine bank No.1. Code P1131 can be caused by a vacuum leak, fuel injector problem, ignition problem or by a faulty oxygen sensor.

Occasionally when you first start the car the brake pedal will barely move and it is hard to stop the vehicle when rolling in the driveway, like the power brakes aren't working.

Power brakes are operated by engine vacuum. It sounds like you may have a leak in the power brake vacuum system, so when the engine isn't running, the vacuum leaks away, and you have no "power" in your power brakes. Once the engine is running, the vacuum is built up over several seconds, and you have power for braking again.

I would check the vacuum lines for cracking and the power brake module for vacuum leaks.

Hard brake pedal

You can only have whatever the engine vacuum is
at any time.
Is there vacuum to the booster check valve
& is the valve working, assuming you have the
old one or a new one with the new booster.
Does fluid flow out all 4 corners?
Are the Rubber Flex Hoses Collaped
Calipers Rusted & frozen?
Did you remove the master & clean out
the moisture from around the piston
That is where you start, then flush & on to
every component in the system, if they are
on the vehicle for many years
You do realize brake fluid gets changed every
2 years on all vehicles or you got big problems with
moisture in years to come

Trouble starting and idling

sounds like you may have a vacuum leak,on the driver side under the hood back at the firewall there are two vacuum lines with rubber hose connections, the rubber hose get brittle and start cracking creating a massive vacuum leak.i ran across this by accident as i was troubleshooting something else, but i was experiencing the same thing you are i would have to keep my foot on the gas to keep it running at first start.

2007 kia sedona vacuum leak

Before I bought the Mass Airflow Sensor, I looked up the codes again for the 2007 3.8L Kia Sedona. One listing was "massive vacuum leak". I took all the hoses and debris collectors off of the engine, and upon close inspection; the large air hose that connects the air filter to the intake manifold was dry rotted at ALL the ridges. I flexed the hose a few times and saw where the vacuum leaks were occurring. I also removed the EGR hose for inspection and found the hose was faulty as well. Since these parts are "dealer only", I used duct tape to seal the leaks as a temp fix, filled the gas tank and used fuel injector cleaner. Disconnected the neg. battery terminal, reset the codes, and the check engine light turned off. Runs like a champ now. Vehicle has 119,000 miles so I guess wear and tear like this is to be expected. New hoses from online parts dealer totaled 130.00. I got off easy I think.

My 1998 expedition with the 5.4 triton runs rough at idle but clears up when driveing down road I know I have a manifold leak and the previous owner said it was a coil pack, however after I had advanced...

If you have a manifold leak that will cause a MASSIVE vacuum leak and make it run rough at idle only. Look at your short term fuel trims with a scanner, if they are way negative you have a vacuum leak. Fix the intake manifold leak and that will fix your problem.

AT START AND WHEN DRIVING, NO LOW SPEED ENGINE IDLE, WHEN AT A STOP ENGINE REVS HIGH.

You likely have a massive vacuum leak. Check the rubber hoses coming from the intake after the throttle body for leaks or missing connections. You'll also be able to hear it with the engine running. It'll be a rushing air/sucking sound.

Changed intake gaskets now car will start barely and idle really rough? rocker arms adjusted to 89 in lbs.

it sounds like you installed the wrong gaskets. this allows air to leak past the gasket causing a massive vacuume leak. It could also be the gasket is too small chocking off the air and causing the car to run rich.
