Cheapest thing to do first is run some injector cleaner in the fuel for a couple tanks. If the engine seems to idle a little rough this could help. Also use highest octane when doing this. Clear the code ASAP after you add the cleaner and hope it doesnt come back on. It may take a time or two so if it takes a couple weeks to go thru the fuel dont worry. On the first tank of cleaner use 1 bottle half a tank. Then add another bottle for the second tank, Cross you fingers. Only other option is a tunup . Plugs may be misfiring. Take it in and their going to want to diag it for a hundred bucks at least. Use that as your last option.

The code is for a misfire-can be anything-first reset could have been an isolated hiccup --if code happens again than --did u get a bad load of gas (water in it ) needs a tune up bad or going bad/spark plug-wires-coil-air filter-fuel problem fuel filter-fuel pump these are some of the problems that would give u a misfire code without others

2004 Jeep Liberty. No Start. Does anyone have any ideas?

That is a whole lot of issues that needs an auto electrician and a pro grade scan tool computer. We have a pro electrician here @Jeff Armer and hopefully he will chime in. Sounds like a communication issue with BCM and ECM which I think is combined into a TIPM.

Hi there, We think the fuel pump on our 2004 Jeep Liberty needs fixing. Can we do this ourselves? Where exactly is the fuel pump located in the Jeep? Thanks, Gen

Thanks for choosing FixYa and welcome to the site. Jeep Liberty electric fuel pumps are almost always located inside the fuel tank, but there are some vehicles where the pump may be located along the frame rail or mounted to the body near the fuel tank. It can be done by yourself but when it is in the tank, it is not an easy job. You will have to take the tank off to get to the fuel pump.

My jeep liberty 2004 3.7 . Is showing these code`s... po300 , p0522 , po335...and I find she`s hard to start....why...

there appears to be a problem with your crank position sensor and your oil pressure switch.

  • The crank position sensor or its connection is probably at fault. The engine needs the signal that the crank postion sensor provides to inject fuel and supply spark at the correct time.
