Car wont start but has gas solve this - 2001 Ford Escort ZX2

You should look for a gas container, go to the nearest gas station, fill it, get back to your car and por the content of your gas container in the refill point of your car. If you don't have a gas container available, maybe you can buy one at the gas station.
Actually make, model and year of your car makes no difference to solve thei sad issue.
Some gas stations won't sell you gas in a container. In this case you should call a towing service and take your car to the gas station.

It sounds like the timing is out if it it is backfiring and now wont start reset the timing and your problem could be solved

start with replacing the fuel pump i had a pickup that did the came thing and that solved it hope i was of help

Sounds like the ignition system is not firing the spark plugs if starting fluid and gasoline doesn't solve the problem.

Verify by putting a spark tester on one of the spark plug boots and attaching the spark tester to the engine block or ground.

your vehicle is fuel injected you should not have to pump the gas pedal plugs and wires ill bet that solves your problem and changeing the fuel filter wont hurt and a fuel injection cleaning wont hurt if you havent had one done to it

Have you changed the fuel filter? Did it die while driving, or just wouldn't start? Don't use starting fluid on a gas engine! It will cause a lot more problems than it solves. Ether, starting fluid is made for diesel engines... not gas, not ever. If it won't start, it isn't lacking ether. It's lacking gas, air or spark.

hi the major problem is due to the single spade type connector going to a switch.. By means of a throttle pulley disconnected it and ur problem will be solved very simple... The switch must have gone bad...

how old is the gas that is in it?? if it has sat for a long time you need to drain it and put in some fresh gas... good luck ray
