1 of 3 things
Broken wire from cab to rear lights.
2,, Fuse blown.
3,, Stop light switch is either faulty or just no good
stop light switch should be fitted to brake pedal so just look under the dash and you should find it
check and replace it if found faulty

Check the fuse, it is usually located under the dashboard or between the door and the dashboard.

1999 dodge Dakota all lights work new bulbs new fuses better shows all good on back the tag light doesn't work or the park lights just on back have signals back up and break ????no juice going to bulb

That makes sense since the rear taillights and license plate lamps come from the same power source, which is different that the ones for the backup and brake lights. Here are two diagrams that show the electrical path for the lights from the battery/fusebox all the way to the lamps. Hope this helps!

Why does only one brake light on my 2002 dodge dakota work sometimes and not other times?

poor wiring connection or the bulb holder has distorted and the bulb not seated correctly are a couple of causes to check out

2004 dodge dakota. brake lights not working but bulb is good. taillights and turn signals are working. Is there a mechanical switch by the brake pedal to look for??

there is a switch above the brake pedal that turns the brake lights on when u depress the pedal, use a volt meter set to DC volts and check for voltage to the switch and out of it when the brake pedal is depressed, see p[icture of switch belowe364f34.jpg

O2 Dodge Dakota Brake lights wont work but bulbs r good.

If the bulbs are good I would suspect the Brake light switch.

Brake Light Switch: Testing and Inspection
The brake lamp switch can be tested with an ohmmeter. The ohmmeter is used to check continuity between the pin terminals.
Switch Circuit Identification
- Terminals 1 and 2: brake lamp circuit
- Terminals 3 and 4: RWAL/ABS module and Powertrain Control Module (PCM) circuit
- Terminals 5 and 6: speed control circuit
Switch Continuity Test
NOTE: Disconnect switch harness before testing switch continuity.
With switch plunger extended, attach test leads to pins 1 and 2. Replace switch if meter indicates no continuity.
With switch plunger retracted, attach test leads to pins 3 and 4. Replace switch if meter indicates no continuity.
With switch plunger retracted, attach test leads to pins 5 and 6. Replace switch if meter indicates no continuity.

I have a 1997 Dodge Dakota who ABS light and Brake

when brake light is constantly on it normally means the rear brake light dont work (bulb blown) ABS normally means sensors pushed too far or teeth on abs cv axle could be damaged or bent. check that first.
