'02 Miata stalls randomly

My 2002 Mazda miata stalls at random intervals. Typically it occurs after the car has been driven for awhile 30 minutes plus. I turn it off, then 5 minutes later I start it. I am able to move forward, but then the engine revs strangely and the throttle is unresponsive, then it stalls with the check engine light on. I then can't restart the engine until I give it an hour or so, then it runs fine. No ryhme or reason to it. Other times, I will drive 30 minutes and then restart it without any problem whatsoever. Problem is intermittant, but highly disruptive.

Your crank position sensor is starting to go bad. we see this a lot at the shop, when it gets hot it will short itself out. you will need to replace it before it goes out all the way. it is located on the front of the valve cover or on the pass side rear of the cover and is held it by one bolt. you can get this at your local parts house but I do recommend you use the one from the dealer we seem to have less problems with them.

Fuel pump replacement 2002 mazda miata

The fuel pump is in the fuel tank. You may be able to access the fuel tank by removing your bottom rear seat cushion. If no access there you must remove the fuel tank. If you have to remove the tank and it is mostly full you should siphon out as much fuel as you can into appropriate containers.

Miata steering feel

Some cars have progressive power steering, light at slow speeds for parking etc. But at speed a heavier feel so you can feel what the grip is like on the front tyres when driven hard. But check the power steering fluid level as well, the pump could be leaking.

About a year ago I took my '01 Miata into the dealer for a stalling problem. The car would lose power and die in traffic and the check engine light would come on. After about five minutes it could be...

the most likely problem is the cam sensor in you valve cover. we see this all the time here in Florida. once the sensor heats up it fails and starts working again when it cools off. try replacing it with on from the dealer and you should have no more problems.

2002 mazda miata mx5 has strong gasoline smell in trunk. Had smoke test done at dealership and showed no leaks. Help.

The fill pipe is right back there. Check to see if a hose has been damaged. Check the spout area, is there a overflow pipe or a seam that could be leaking into the trunk?

Miata has 61000 miles want replace timing belt to be on safe side

California has a law that Mazda guarantees the timing belt will last 105,000. I drove my 1999 Miata that long before I replaced it. Mazda ia a non interactive motor which means that if the belt breaks the car stalls and won't go anywhere. No damage to engine if it breaks.
